In June, I went on my bachelorette trip to Scottsdale and had an amazing time! It was one of those trips where you just don’t want it to end. It was a mix of 7 girlfriends from all different chapters of my life and it was so much fun seeing them come together and meet one another. It made me even more excited for our wedding in Italy and to have an even larger group of our loved ones come together for 3 days with us.
In Scottsdale we stayed at an Airbnb (The Monty) – it was perfect for our group size. 4 bedrooms/3 baths, had a pool, and fire pit – it was super clean and well decorated. The location close to Old Town was also ideal – we strolled around the shops there one day.
The first day we went horseback riding at MacDonald’s Ranch. An outdoor, non-alcohol related activity was a request of mine. We had to go at 8:00am because of the time of year and heat but it was worth an early morning! There’s something about the desert landscape that I love, and this was an activity to get to spend time in it. And yes I wore a denim jumpsuit, I’m a big jumpsuit fan, and it worked out well.
I was worried about going to Scottsdale in June and the heat. The temperature was in the 90s every day, and as everyone said “the dry heat” made it not nearly as bad as somewhere like Texas in June. We had dinner outside one night and that was manageable.
The last day we did a ‘Bachella’ theme and hung out poolside. My Nuuly coverup worked out well for this theme. Later in the day the ladies surprised me with a Tarot card reader who was outrageous (think Illuminati and tv-mind control being referenced) and so much fun. All the ladies also got their cards read, so it was a unique experience for us all.
For dinners, we ate at Olive & Ivy, and the other two nights we did pizza and Mexican take out. One night we went out to Gilligan’s bar – great music for dancing and wasn’t too crowded. I wore this Significant Other Seren Mini dress that I’m obsessed with, I plan to pack it for Italy too! If you’ve never played the Fishbowl/Salad bowl game, I highly recommend it. We had so many belly laughs. The best advice is to add a round 4, where you add a sheet over the person. Trust me on this one.
