Classic & Refreshing Margarita

Margarita on a table, in front of the Golden Gate bridge.

During quarantine I went on a huge margarita kick, but didn’t want to keep making ones high in sugar. I also started using Cointreau vs Triple Sec, which is often what you get in restaurants, along with lots of simple syrup. Cointreau makes a huge difference in elevating the flavor to me. Now when I’m out I always try to order one that uses Cointreau vs another orange liquor. I typically am someone who goes for sweet vs sour drinks, so I was surprised I didn’t need anything else besides the 3 ingredients below!

Quality tequila is also going to be a factor in the taste. Try to use an additive free one (you can go down a Google rabbit hole to learn about this). I typically use Fortaleza Blanco.

Classic Margarita:

-1 oz Cointreau
-2 oz Blanco tequila
-1 oz Fresh lime juice

I personally also add a *splash* of club soda too, just to give it a little sparkle. Enjoy!
