I’m someone that still loves holding a book and haven’t yet converted to an e-reader. So while I do scroll Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration, I still want the weight of paper on my fingers. Over the last few years I’ve been refining which magazine publications educate and inspire me on interiors. The World of Interiors magazine is one I really enjoy.
Often times many of the featured interiors are not similar to my own style. However, even if the entire room isn’t something I’d ever copy, there might be a corner, a chair placement, the table setting, that I get an idea from.
I try to keep all the old issues, and I find that the first time I read through there may one room that catches my eye, and then when I pick it back up some time later, there’s something new that stands out to me.
I’m a believer that ones style and interests change over time, it’s natural. I try not to look at my old decorating or clothing choice as cringe but rather a reflection of me in that time. There’s an appreciation for all these different phases of my-self.
If you’re not into fully committing to a subscription I’d recommend checking out your local library, they oftentimes will have magazines you can check out. Or you may be able to find old bundles of magazines on a site like eBay.
