If you’re on the hunt for a great Farm Rio dupe, you already know the brand has some of the most recognizable prints in fashion—bold tropical florals, whimsical animals, and gorgeous border detailing. Some would say the more modern ‘adult’ non-preppy version of Lilly Pulitzer. But with retail prices usually sitting between $200 and $400, buying several pieces each season adds up fast.
If you’ve been searching for a Farm Rio dupe, you have probably seen tons of affordable options popping up on Amazon and boutique sites.
Below is my honest review of what you are actually getting, what you need to know before buying, and where to find authentic Farm Rio at steep discounts.

Amazon Farm Rio Dupes
Here is the truth: authentic Farm Rio is expensive largely because of the materials. Most original pieces are made from structured 100% cotton, breathable linen, or high-grade viscose with detailed embroidery and substantial weight.
When you buy a Farm Rio dress dupe on Amazon, it is almost always 100% polyester. That fabric difference is why the price is so low. In person:
The prints: Stunning and very close to the original look. The vibrant patterns and designs look great. And note, it’s *printed* on, not embroidered like Farm Rio. Even though many of the stock photos may make you think it’s embroidered.
The fabric: The material is thin, lightweight, and synthetic. It lacks the structure and quality of real cotton or linen.

Just know what you are ordering upfront so you aren’t expecting heavy boutique linen when you open the package – this avoids disappoint and am immediate return.
Many of these options are still super cute, as you’ll see from these pics! I just think it’s helpful to level-set expectations upfront and give some real talk vs over sell.
I did really like this dress! The fabric was soft & very comfy. Multiple different print options, ~$39 Amazon Prime.

This dress’s fabric did feel ‘cheaper’ than the other dress, more synthetic. Great for a beach wrap though. Note it was low-cut, I could have tried for smaller but then it would have been shorter – which again, unless a beach cover up would have gotten tricky. Lots of reviews though, so you can check out some other photos of women with different body-types!
$33 on Amazon Prime & many different pattern options.
PS – Pairing a bold printed dress with a neutral woven bag like the options in my Bottega Veneta dupe guide makes for an effortless vacation outfit.
Farm Rio Cardigan Dupes & Statement Knitwear
It’s not just dresses—Farm Rio’s jacquard knit sweaters and embroidered cardigans are just as popular.
If you are looking for a Farm Rio cardigan dupe, there are great alternatives right now (more linked in my full edit below):
- Amazon Animal & Split Cardigans ($30–$38): Playful cheetah and tiger motifs in bright color-block patterns that deliver the same eclectic look.
- AQUA at Bloomingdale’s ($66): If you want a step up in knit quality with real jacquard embroidery, the AQUA exclusive border cardigan gives a very similar designer aesthetic.
The Best Way to Get Real Farm Rio for Cheaper: ThredUp & The RealReal
If you love the aesthetic but really want the authentic natural fabrics—the cotton, the linen, and the true embroidery—you don’t have to pay full retail price.
The secondhand market is a gold mine for authentic Farm Rio:
- ThredUp: There is an enormous amount of Farm Rio listed on ThredUp at any given moment. Right now there’s 200+ Farm Rio items ‘with tags attached‘ alone – you’re getting brand new items at a steep discount!
If you’re new to ThredUp, you can use ‘WELCOME’ for 50% off your first purchase for an even higher discount! - The RealReal: Another excellent source for discounted Farm Rio resale. Prices vary depending on condition, but it is one of the easiest ways to score past-season prints at 50% to 70% off retail.
(Buying authenticated resale on The RealReal is also one of my favorite secrets for scoring luxury accessories—I shared similar tips for finding pre-loved deals in my Celine dupe guide.) - Nordstrom Rack: Keep an eye out for clearance drops. I regularly spot authentic Farm Rio dresses marked down to around $100–$118 on Nordstrom Rack online. (About 100 pieces on sale there now.)
Farm Rio Inspired Edit
Brands Similar to Farm Rio That Won’t Break the Bank
If you love the bold, colorful aesthetic of Farm Rio but don’t want fast-fashion polyester from Amazon—and definitely don’t want to drop $300 to $400 on a single dress—there are several contemporary brands with a similar vibe at much friendlier price points.
When people look for brands similar to Farm Rio, designer labels like Zimmermann or Alémais often get recommended, but those cost even more than Farm Rio! Here are the best affordable brands like Farm Rio that deliver on bold prints without the designer price tag:
- Show Me Your MUMU: I know, random name. I love this brand and they have a lot of beautiful designs. They are not super cheap (eg still in the ~$150+ range, but they frequently have markdowns & a sale page).
- ASOS (especially the brand Never Fully Dressed): Don’t sleep on ASOS! Ideal for bold print clashes, leopard-meets-floral motifs, and vibrant wrap dresses that lean into that same maximalist energy.
- Lulus: If you are shopping specifically for dresses like Farm Rio for an upcoming beach trip or vacation, Lulus is hard to beat for budget resort wear. You can easily find vibrant tropical maxis and halter dresses between $50 and $80.
- Boden: If your main priority is getting 100% cotton or linen with whimsical, joyful prints (fruit motifs, jungle florals, and bright color-blocking), look at Boden. When they run sales, you can routinely snag high-quality natural fiber dresses for under $100.
- Petal & Pup: Great for feminine, vacation-ready silhouettes with punchy botanical patterns, tiered skirts, and smocked bodices mostly priced under $90.
