Quick Figs & Goat Cheese Appetizer

A super-simple, quick appetizer. Fresh figs stuffed with any creamy, flavorful cheese. I went with a creamy goat cheese, optionally drizzled with balsamic vinegar.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Course Appetizer
Servings 12

Ingredients

  • 12 figs washed
  • 2 ounces soft goat cheese
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar optional

Instructions

  • Cut figs in half, or quarters depending on their size,
  • Use your fingers to roll the goat cheese into teaspoon-sized balls
  • Press a cheese ball into the center of each fig. Plate them.
  • Optional - Drizzle with vinegar. Serve within an hour.

Notes

I tried the recipe with and without the balsamic drizzle, I preferred without.
The figs I purchased were quite large, so I ended up cutting them into quarters to be bite-size. If they're small, you can just halve them.
If you have extra time, try wrapping these in prosciutto for a salty-sweet variation. For those who prefer a sweeter finish, swap the balsamic for a high-quality honey.
