We went to Mexico City last year and it was an amazing trip. My favorite parts of it were the walking history tour and the Tacos & Mezcal dinner tour we did – both found through Airbnb experiences! If you haven’t perused Airbnb Experiences before, I’d highly recommend. I’ve found some great activities in a variety of cities through the platform.
While we were there, we stayed at a hotel that was in the business district which we found to be safe & convenient.

This tour was a great way to have more of an authentic Mexican experience with a local guide. We hit 4 different spots and enjoyed tacos and mezcal bars around Colonia Roma.
We also went on a tour of Mexico’s Historic District with our guide Jose. Since we were only there for a long weekend, both of these were great ways to interact with locals and cover a lot of ground in the city!
We stopped at Limantour for a drink, it’s on the ‘World’s Top 50 bars’ list, we were easily able to get a reservation.
In addition to the taco tour being some of the best food, our dinner at Taverna was excellent, it’s actually Mediterranean cuisine. And it’s such a vibe on the interior. Very moody and rustic.
